Centering the shaker

I put a E performer on my 78 TA 400. New motor mounts too. When the shaker is on, it doesn't sit in center of cutout. It sits too far to passenger side. Any ideas on what the #$#$?? is going on?

I have the same problem with my rebuilt 400. I had Cliff rebuild the 800, xe74 cam, shaved heads, with stock gas pump. I am going to check the fuel filters and then try a Holley if that is needed.

Whoopee!

I had two spark plug wires in the wrong holes (5-7), the timing was way retarded and I was flooding the motor after a few turns of the starter. All the ideas helped work thru it.

I did call the builder. He agreed to pay towing back to his place and will fix and replace. Given the potential for there to be a problem with the sealing surface, I am just going to haul it back....
