68 GTO Wood dash insert

Hi all,
Would anyone happen to recognize this wood dash insert?
It high gloss and the clear coat appears to be a few mm thick.
I don't think that it is polished resin as its a little tackier to...

To me it looks like you'd need a second set of hands. One to lift the hood while the other holds the latch release in the cabin.
