Holley has decided to close the Hilborn line.

Holley has a habit of buying great companies and making them mediocre or extinct.

Holley was bought out by Sentinel Capital Partners in 2018. ( Hilborn was acquired in 2019 ) They ONLY care about the bottom line. They invest in companies to make them profitable. There is absolutely no interest in the actual products or the history of the company.
Too bad, but that’s the world we live in nowadays.

Good thing Engler, and Kinsler, have a large portion of the sprint car market already. I won't have to worry about the ability of racers to keep their race cars on the track with a major player exiting.

They haven't made a dedicated 8 stack for a Stratostreak engine in decades, so no loss to our favorite engine.

I read over on the HAMB board that Smithberg Racing has acquired a lot of the old Hilborn inventory, does repairs and is also manufacturing some new parts: https://www.smithbergracing.com/hilb...-new-for-2022/

The link to Smithberg Racing says "... not open to the public". I don't know how to interpret that?

It's a loss for my two Pontiac engines with their Hilborn 4-ports.

Jack, the current Hilborn corporation hasn't supported Pontiac engines for decades, is the point I was making. When was the last time you looked on a Hilborn catalogue, and they were offering a new Pontiac specific setup?

I'm casually looking for an 8 stack setup, but I'm not finding anything at a reasonable cost. I've actually considered purchasing a used chevy setup, and adapting it to a Pontiac head.

I can buy chevy setups as cheaply as $600 used, but a Pontiac setup is like looking for hens teeth. They're made from that rare alloy, "unobtanium".

Just a note here about future parts and service, Kinsler, located in Michigan, says that they can flow, and supply parts for any, and all, mechanical injection sysytems, so you will still be able to run Hilborn systems.

Alkydigger.com also can flow any system, and supply parts for any brand of mechanical injection.

This was exactly my thoughts on buying a chevy setup, and adapting it to fit Pontiac heads.

I actually want a electronic system so it is streetable, but you need to have a old mechanical system to have it converted to electronics. With the adapter plates shown, a more recent electronic 8 stack system could be adapted to a Pontiac application.

YoungGTO, I see you reside in my old hometown, I moved from Erie in 1999. I used to have a Pennzoil garage/service station at 38th, and Mc Clelland Ave, Yost Pennzoil. I also raced, and sponsored many oval track cars (Eriez Speedway) back in the 70s, and 80s. In my signature pictures the victory lane 67 GTO is at Eriez, the 69 GP picture is in the lot of the service station. Jay's Auto Wrecking, was one of my sponsors as you can see on the cars.
