Well it finally happened, after almost 5 years I am now in the process of only ironing out details on my 1970 Trans Am Basket Case project. What my wife had called "the biggest piece of S#$% Ive ever seen" she now calls "Lola" (walks like a woman, talks like a man). I cannot begin to explain the sense of pride and accomplishment of finishing this beast. Many many thanks to all of you on this forum, without who's advice this would never have happened. To all those guys out there in the process, keep going!! The rewards are FANTASTIC!! If you need anything, I'm out smoking the tires ...

Looking good! Just work on that ride height. See if Norwood will let you have his springs! LOL

FunctionalShaker 09-09-2016 04:14 PM

Congrats. Bet the wife has no problem cruising in it now.

Congrats!!! If you have pic's, could you post some before and after pics of the work you did/had done? It really amazes me and motivates me to see pics of folks hard work. Thanks for keeping another one alive!

Looks amazing, congrats. We all know the work, cost and dedication it takes to do these cars. You really do need to take a look at that ride hight though.

tonyk 09-10-2016 10:16 AM

Thanks all, I'm hoping the front springs will work in some, it's only had a motor in for a few weeks and she's only got a few miles on the clock right now so it's pretty tight.

Looks fantastic. Great work. They ARE much more fun to drive than work on!

Congrats!

Turned out great! Thoughts of driving mine when done is what keeps me going as well.

OCMDGTO 09-10-2016 03:10 PM

Wow beautiful car and great job! Thanks for the laugh and enjoy driving it.

dpoltzer 09-10-2016 08:43 PM

Nice job Tony! Have fun cruising after 5 long years of work. Well done!

Looks awesome Tony and you better be driving the **** out of it because the snow is coming right around the corner. Cheers

Looks amazing, great job! I like the name too.

I think it sits cool, has a real beefy look to it!

Thanks for the kind remarks. Here are some pics of before and after. She ran really nice this weekend. Got some really fun miles on the clock. She hummed along nicely at all speeds, 185 temp, good oil pressure, and best of all no leaks. I probably spent a week chasing leaks! Stopped at a local car show in Milford for a short while. Got lots of looks and compliments. I'll post interior pics once I take some Keith.
