Another Craigslist '70 TA

Here's a '70 I haven't seen discussed here. Looks like a '73-ish front clip with a '72 interior. PHS shows very low option car, originally M21 & 3.73 rear. I'm thinking way over priced. What do youse guys think?

What a mess. I don't see the air conditioning on the PHS. Yea, I think it's way overpriced too.

A mess is good word for it.

Frankenbird...

I wander how many firebirds were harmed in the making of that car?

2manyT/A'S 09-22-2015 12:58 AM

At the risk of insulting the current owner and car......It sure looks like a "tag job" to me...an NOT a very GOOD one...

That 70 is a mess. Speaking of CL T/A's I found a 71 HO on my local CL. I didn't want to start a thread about it, so heres the link.

Those pics look familiar. Maybe this one's been on eBay before?

Many times, Daytona, FLA. He once had 3 1971-72 LB Trans Ams in one auction for 75k

A mess is right. . .sure missing a lot of original 70 parts.

. . . outside of the mess the car is . . . a black 70 TA would be pretty cool looking

roundportponchos 09-23-2015 12:38 AM

That's been on CL for a while - started at over 20k.
Is there anything on it other than the VIN and heads that says 1970?
Even the dash bezels are missing.

Not much specific '70 only content there. Maybe the hood but doubting it.
And how is it that it has what appears to be factory A/C when it's not on the invoice? Rebodied?
Whoo-Hoo! It's down to $17,500. If they take the 1 off the front of that number I might have to go look at it.

And it was originally equipped with the Performance Axle option (3.73s), so wouldn't have been available with A/C.

A few skeletons in that one's closet...

1971WARBIRD 10-01-2015 09:21 PM

if you look close at the picture showing the rear deck and speaker--you can see the 70 only rear window blower slot. SOOO, could maybe a rebody because of the AC thing, but looks like at least a 70 body was used.
