WIW 1972 Seat Belts , Rare 1/2 year only ?

Hey All, Figured i would check the "value" of my 1/2 year only seat belts. From my research these are a pretty rare find. They are in pretty good shape, not perfect but very nice.

These have the "beltminder" wires for the dash light.

The male fronts have the interlocking shoulder to lap connection before locking to the female receiver.

They have retractors for the front and rear.

Date coded 51a71.

Thanks, Beebe

A bit of info on the belts limited production -

The strike that resulted in 1972 being the second lowest production year for Trans Am's, there were many mid-year changes being introduced to the cars. Generally speaking cars made after January 1, '72 had slightly different dash emergency brake lighting, added seat belt warning lights that included the introduction of the seat belt warning buzzer. These changes initiated at the start of the year also included a change from the very popular seatbelts that had been used for years in many GM rides to a new design. The mid year seat belt design changed again at the start of the '73 model year rendering the belts 'half year only' parts.

Not sure what changed for intro of '73's. Many 73's had that style of female buckle and '73's, as well had the wire for the seatbelt warning light. PM sent.

seems the 73's had a different look but similar structural style. my very late 72 has same belts.
