Replace or Recover Parchment Front Bucket Seats

Mine are starting to show some wear and the support sucks. My question what is the best way to replace? I can get the recover anywhere but then I'd have to mess with the springs and replace padding. The other way of buying a good after market pair complete. What would y'all suggest?

I think you're better off rebuilding the stock seats, maybe someone else will chime in. Get the good foams and complete kit.

I just had my seats done in my '63 Bonneville convert, with vinyl on the outer areas and leather in the seating areas. As part of the process, the upholsterer reconditioned my frames and metal springs (including sand blasting and painting, tightening, and so forth) and added new foam and cloth.

I would highly recommend finding a good shop to do essentially the same for you. Covers are one thing, but as you've already commented, the support is lousy (my back used to really complain on longer drives - even in my younger days, and even with my 6-way power seat). Talk to the shop, explain your support concerns, and let the upholsterer show you what types of foam would be options for you.

Sounds like good advice, thank you.
