Single auction: Three 71 4-speed T/As on eBay

Wow. Some serious projects here.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tchlink:top:en

But I'd be calling on that blue/white interior car if I wasn't up to my eyeballs in projects already...

weranc55 01-05-2014 09:17 PM

Wow. Neat cars but lots of work.

RAJ7395 01-05-2014 10:13 PM

Wow! Wish I had the money!

Nick623 01-05-2014 10:51 PM

Nice, but same guy tried to sell one of those three 71's for 26,500 recently, the "Car 2", was discussed somewhere here on PY. Wonder how much he thinks all three are worth.

3tas4me 01-05-2014 11:22 PM

Yes, he was WAAAAYYYY overpriced on that one!

Dens71TA 01-05-2014 11:31 PM

Looks like there is an ungodly amount of work there to get those cars even in presentable driver condition. Life is too short to work on rusty cars. I learned that one the hard way!

FunctionalShaker 01-05-2014 11:59 PM

And there's that white one on saw in the b.g. of the Craigslist listing. The one looks pretty decent. The other two...

agreed

300k of resto......

Formulabruce 01-06-2014 04:49 AM

With a rotisserie, access to a blaster and some room, this isnt that surmountable of work. I dont see missing frame rails....
Maybe not worth what hes going to ask,but the cars are worth fixing.
dont see 3 Lucy '71s together very often, T/A or not..

takid455 01-06-2014 10:35 AM

Are they all legit? counldnt see if they had roundport heads or not. Seems one could make 2 cars out of the 3. was at 12-13k last night.

Not a surprise. I guess he doesn't really want to sell them that badly. There isn't even close to 60K worth of parts there.

I dont think he is totally out of line on asking 60k for them. Numbers mathing 4 sp blue cars are hard to find. 20k each sounds better than 25k. Trying to find someone who wants three big projects is going to be a challange.

Not sure about you, but in my experience, complete project cars bring less than the sum of the parts (if parted). None of these cars have anywhere near 20K in good parts on them. 12-15 is about top end of what I think they are worth individually, if even that much. Everyone who has an early rusty T/A always seems to think they have a Barrett Jackson car........

Only one of those cars is matching numbers. The other two may have correct (but not original) engines. After looking at the pictures closely and receiving a call from from Pat, the one with the collision damage is a car I used to own and sold just 3 or 4 years ago. Original engine is long gone, but M22 was supposed to be original (no VIN stamp on transmission). Car has some major collision repair to make it right again. Cowl is pushed back on the drivers side from the impact. On the plus side, it is the only one of the three that is not rusty. The photo showing the clean floorpan is from this car.

Thanks for that info. He did tell me that the car I was interested in was #'s matching, maybe thats why he wants 25k for that one. I may have assumed that all three where. If thats the case your right they are not worth what he wants for them.

2manyT/A'S 01-06-2014 06:51 PM

I'm thinking that the seller is hoping that somebody will buy all three in order to get one........and then sell off the other two.......

LOVE those pictures....they even SMELL musty.......

Shift'n Gears 01-06-2014 06:54 PM

Thanks Weranc55- you saved me a phone call. $25k is way to much for that car!

Agree. Btw the original block is in the trunk along with the heads.
