what a cool car

That does look like that car, last I knew that car went to a Boston area Policeman who was a bit disappointed in it. not sure if this is the same car. I wanted to get with him but lost his contact info as I had phone issues. I seem to remember he had a real nice 73.

John Casey?

Looks like it drowned in a hurricane

Yeah that's the Daytona car - one of 3 the guy had on eBay at one time.

Poncho Dave 05-31-2016 11:01 PM

It came from NY and was sold along with a few others to a guy in Daytona. Daytona guy was trying to get $25,000 for it. Friend of mine offered 20,000 and was turned down.

I think the guys name was John, he paid like 19K trans for it and did not sound happy with it, I think he paid too much for what it is by about 4K or so but what the hell do I know. Sounded like it was rusty in all of the NE type areas and would need a bunch of work besides being NOM. I would think it would either have to have not as much rust and be nom or original motor with that much rust to warrant 20-25K.

Just as an aside and to close this one out for anyone wondering I bought this one.

3tas4me 08-10-2016 09:06 PM

Any pics showing the rust and damage?

RAIVJUMB 08-11-2016 09:00 AM

No I have not taken any really to speak of, the damage to the rockers is fixable as they are solid, trunk floor is good, needs a bit around the base of the windshield. Front floors will need some work. Fenders are original as is hood and they are decent and easily worked with. Trunk lid is junk but not a big deal there, rails don't look too bad. I have the motor turning and just have to figure out what is up with the ignition circuit as turning the key gives you no smiles. Has to be jumped off of the starter.

Thanks, I wanted a car that would bookend my white 71 that is basically days from done. My white one is: Auto/Air/STD Blue int/no décor package. The blue is :STD/NON Air, DLX Blue, Décor trim and will wear Honeycombs. I think they will represent sort of both ends of the spectrum. While neither one of them is a stripped model they are both very different.

ahhhhh........... very cool. One really needs both types. The romp around town car and the put the windows up cruise car :) I like the stylistic range of visuals.

Well hopefully I can get it rolling here soon, at some point I will restore it back to right as I am doing to the white one, but not right yet. Mark
