That's true for recent history. But the Bears still lead the series between the two squads by a 2 game margin (92 - 90). The Packers have had very long periods where they absolutely sucked.

They are the only NFL team to go 25 full regulation NFL seasons (1968 - 1992) without scoring a single TD in the playoffs...

Yup - the Vikes haven't. I watched all four losses (two while stationed over in Germany - imagine staying up til around midnight for the game to start and then watching your team lose...).

I take solace in the fact that the Vikings have never had the looooooooooooooooooooong periods of suckiness like your team has. We might go 2 - 3 seasons with a losing record, but never for 10 or more consecutive years like your Packers...;)

The Vikings, despite being the "youngest team" in the NFC North/Central, have won the division 18 times and made the playoffs 27 times. The Packers, Bears and especially the Lions aren't even close...

Speaking of the Vikings, it will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to both teams this weekend when they play the Bears here at home. Will the crowd boo Minnesota or The Bears?

If the Vikings score first - I think it will be a very ugly crowd for the Bears unless they immediately come back and score.

I was hoping for Jared Allen to have a great season with the Bears (except for 2 games). But between his pneumonia and the total dysfunction of the Bear defense that has not been the case.

It was fun watching him play for the years he was in MN.

If you aren't going to count the 1982 season, when they put up 67 points in two playoff games, then at least do the math right.
There were 23 "full regulation" seasons during that period, not 25.

1982 was the strike year - it was only a 9 game season - not a regulation 16. The teams didn't even play all of there division opponents. They never played Chicago or Tampa Bay and only played Minnesota once at home.

We're both wrong on the number of full regulation seasons between 1968 and 1992. There were 25 seasons (where I got my number), but 1 was not a full regulation season (1982), so there were only 24 full regulation seasons...

You forgot that you have to include both the 1968 and the 1992 season. If you just subtract 68 from 92 and get 24 - you aren't counting the 1968 season.

For all of the non-believers, the Eagles are only 3 yds and a bad call from being undefeated.

Green Bay is playing lights out, esp. at home, but I don't see Mr. Rodgers staying "upright" all game either. ::eek:

Well Phil, it's like this,

I have been out here for going on 23 years and it is home, I do miss my family members and grandkids. Never imagined that long ago that I would be the "less seen" grandparents.

But with everything I have out here moving back now would be real tough.

Not to mention, when I do go back to visit, it has REALLY gotten congested out there, usually about 3 days and I'm ready to come home.

I enjoy the peace and solitude out here, excellent roads, decent people, very low crime, and all of the other things that go with small town living.

Besides, I really do have it made, town of 500 people, I walk two blocks from my home to my office, and I can sit on the front porch on the weekend with my feet up on the railing and watch BOTH cars drive by!

No car insp. No emissions, get a title for an old car with just a bill of sale, antique plates 25.00 per year, LOL

But some things will never die,
